I'm a horrendous contradict really.First, I say I do not have the means to buy more things then I go shopping with
Caryn and Elysha the whole day and tempt myself with colored skinnies. It is usual to spend some money on food and parking when you go out but it gets ridiculous when you find yourself trying out clothes that you cannot afford and are not going to buy.
Sounded as if Shopping was my one true love, huh? Well, if Shopping was a man, I would marry him immediately. OK that makes no sense but whatever. Everytime I go 1U, I just go to gym, workout and go home. I try not to window shop or go to Zara, Topshop, Forever 21, Esprit, etc. But today after Father's Day lunch, my aunt wanted to check out Zara's jackets so we went there. Big mistake. I spotted a pair of colorful tropical-themed shorts and a striped tube top with matching faux leather belt.
Don't mind the blurry pics, I was rushing for time. I may appear chubby in the photos but remember, the camera adds 10 pounds to your normal size. Seriously.
I love love love the shorts but it is really pricey. So is the black and white tube top. But I wanted it so bad and the belt would look good with other tops that I just bought it. There goes my week's allowance. Because Zara's footless tights costs RM65.90, I went to M&S to get them for just RM39. So I did make an effort to save.
I thought the striped tube and footless tights combo looked more chic than the shorts. The shorts costs more than the tube and it gives a beach-y feel. If I had the money, really!
Suddenly, Keith's voice can be heard as I sat down to edit these pictures. "It will be impossible for you to earn your first million at the age of 30, if you're going on like this. I'd even be surprised if you have 10k by the time you're 30."
Guilt trips, I tell you!
I've been searching for a waist coat for months. Ever since I spotted the best waiscoat in the world at TOPSHOP, I went waistcoat crazy when it sold out. Before it was sold out, it was about a hundred plus. I didn't have money then so I didn't purchase it. About weeks later it was on sale but I still didn't have the cash, so I just forego it. Regretting it much later it was ages before I found something that I like. It will never be the best waistcoat in the world but I'm glad. Although spending one week's allowance on a single piece of garment is not advisable, but I do it once awhile for the sake of getting something I like before it is gone.
I thought about it long and hard. Just last week I bought the I heart Rock and Roll shirt. I reckon the week before I bought a hoodie, skinny jeans from Zara and a tank top from Forever 21. It is like I'm buying a piece of garment every week!!! No wonder I can't save money!
But not all my money are spent on clothing. I also had my fourth Carl's Jr Burger.
I don't know what is it called. I was on the phone while I ordered this at the counter so yeah, not sure what it is but I know there are chicken bacon in it. As usual it tasted fantastic. I just love Carl's Jr. I think it will take me awhile before I get bored of it.
I'm going to watch a Korean drama now. Toodles!
I really wanted to post on the topic of my "IT" bags but I couldn't find the proper images. So, to not disappoint my readers (especially bag ladies like me! ^_~) I present you an incomplete bag story, with pending photos and commentary to follow. As for now, I will just highlight the transparent bags I've found in my new Cawaii! Magazine. Here are photos of the magazine's bag page and transparent bags I think that are not bad:
From left to right: A photo of the bag page (click to enlarge), beige transparent bag, blue transparent bag, candy cane transparent bag and silver transparent bag.
I have no idea what you call this types of bag, I hope transparent is the right way to describe it. As you can see they are like normal bags but the material is a plastic see-through type and there is another bag inside the see-through bag. The reason why it is designed that way is because the carrier of the bag would like the viewer to have a glimpse of what is inside of the bag and yet there is another inner compartment that conceals the items from the viewers' eyes. In a way, it is like a hide-and-seek game.
As forementioned before in the first paragraph, I wanted to talk about silver bags and transparent bags. Since I do not have the luxury of possessing photos of beautiful silver bags like the Balenciaga Motorcycle bag in silver or Tod's Pashmy Messenger Bag in Grey, I will revert the topic to what I did today (I can already hear some people muttering inwardly).
What I did today
As usual I woke up in the afternoon, about 12PM. Got dressed in my summer dress and drove to One Utama for a treat by my aunt. She won some money in a lottery so she decided to treat us (Mom, maid and I including my cousins, which obviously are my aunt's children). My cousin's grandma came too, the mother of my cousin's father. We had our 'debut' at Cinnamon Coffee House @ One World Hotel. Pricey place but worth every sen. The International Hi-Tea buffet consisted of foods from Japan, China, India, Italy, Malaysia, and fusion of both Western and Asian dishes. The highlight of the food I ate was of course the 3-tiered chocolate fondue and the squid-ink pasta. It was my first time eating squid-ink pasta; it is not as disgusting as my mom perceived it to be.
There were dim sum, lok-lok, satay, curry chicken, sushi, sashimi, desserts from all over the world, chicken rice, fried rice, vegetables, soup of the day, mushroom soup, bread and so much more! I was spoiled for choice and I regret to say that I did not get to try everything in the buffet (I think if I did I would have not been able to walk to my car).
Right after the buffet which started from 12PM to 4:30PM, we seperated ways (Mom and aunt went their way, older cousin, younger cousin, grandma and I went our ways). We window-shopped for awhile before the older cousin had to leave; grandma wanted to go home.Grandma bought the older cousin a pair of Vincci heels. They're pretty. I just stayed back with my younger cousin and we shopped somemore. While browsing around Forever 21 I found a treasure!
A nice white tank top with "I heart rock n roll" emblazoned on the front and faux suspenders printed on the sides! On the last photo, far right, you can see an enlarged photo of the suspender clip circled in red. Isn't it adorable? The price of this top is quite pricey in my opinion. But I guess if I like something and the price is not RM1K for a shirt, then I should buy it right?
On Saturday I decided to dress up like a school girl. Ruffled shirt with black suspenders and black pedal pushers.
When I was around 18 years old I would wear a white shirt, red tartan skirt and white knee-high socks. Completing my look with a pair of Adidas white and blue sneakers or Converse shoes.
Then there was the dress-like-Avril moments. White wifebeater with green camo pants. Black rubber bangles, long rebonded hair and an attitude of a punk pop princess ( I later found out that it was just a whole lot of 'junk' pop princess instead) I no longer fancy Avril Lavigne ever since she came up with the second album. She was no longer appealing to me but she annoyed the hell out of me instead.
Anyway, enough about my themed dressing. On Sunday, I had a great taste of Japanese food at the Japan Food Fair in Ikano.
My favourite flavor is strawberry. Be it strawberry covered in chocolate, strawberry cheese cake or strawberry milkshake, it never fails to turn my tastebuds on. I love the pink or red color of the strawberry flavored whatever.
So naturally, when I saw the strawberry flavored chocolate on the shelf, I HAD TO GET IT. Here pictured on the right is the expensive piece of strawberry flavored chocolate. It tastes great and I told my brother it is now my favourite expensive snack. After Tao Kae Noi, that is.
On the left, it is the chocolate with the opened wrapper. I feel this picture looks like the chocolate in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
It is like Willy Wonka's special chocolate. I forgot what it's called.
The picture below is of the Japanese rice topping thingy that I absolutely adore. It is made of seaweed and other ingredients. All you have to do is to pour the contents into a bowl of steamy hot rice and pour hot water on it. Then it is ready to be served!
Celebrating my brother's 19th birthday the day before the actual date with the family is so meaningful. I rushed back from gym just to be on time to witness the candles blowing ceremony. He complained of being old. I retorted with "What about me? Ancient, ah?" in which he replied that I was different.
Was supposed to go to Karen's to practice singing for Bergson and Mei's wedding on Saturday but Kenneth and Lilian wanted to hang out. I hardly see Lilian anymore.
We chatted and drank in Prince Cafe while shivering under the blast of the air-cond above us. There was so much to say and yet so little time. Didn't want to call it a night so soon, we headed over to the DVD shops to get some DVDs. Yes, I know I'm tight on money and in debt but a girl's gotta kill her blues with some retail therapy. I got myself these:
We adjourned to play some DoTa afterwards after much persuasion on my part. I'm hooked on that game and I needed some company to play so I dragged poor Kenneth and Lilian to Horus Cafe at SS2. They picked up the game quite quickly much to my amazement. Somehow I was the worst player of them all. I was supposed to be the better one amoing them because they are noobs but they surpassed me. o.O
Today marks the first day of the 50% Zara sale. Dying to get my hands on that coveted dress, I dragged Mom along with me to buy it. I'm paying for the full amount of it but I'm using the credit card in which my mom pays for the bill then I return her the cash. I'm already paying her installment for the pink phone. Also I got myself a dress/top for a steal!
