My mother was one of the privileged who had a chance to own an OCBC Platinum Robinsons card and an invite to the opening today at 7pm. Naturally she brought me and her close friend, Aunt G. Being overly excited, she got me primped up at 3pm and by 3:30pm, we were on our way there. Although Midvalley offered her to park her car at the valet for free, she'd rather park at the boulevard parking. Perhaps the very thought of parking outdoors and tipping the jockey was not a very appealing option.
We walked around quite abit before the opening. Since we didn't have lunch earlier, we went to Din Tai Fung for a late lunch. I didn't take any photos (nothing was worth taking photos for) but we had the usual Xiao Loong Bao, Xiu Mai and Chicken Chop Fried Rice. The fried rice was very very very good. In fact, it is one of the best I've ever tried in a long time.
Around 7:30pm we were sitting around the front entrance of Robinsons. I bumped into Keith, a classmate. He, like me, skipped gym just for this event. That's like, so totally rare! Gym for people like me and Keith is like some sort of a new religion. We never miss it UNLESS it is for something important. But I have to admit I missed alot of important events just because I stubbornly wanted to go to gym. So anyway, back to the topic.
Finally after a lion dance show and an opening ceremony speech, the crowd were allowed into the 3 storey departmental store from Singapore. I find it nice, they have alot of brands that we don't usually find here. Guests were treated with champagne, Coke, Sprite and a fine selection of hors d'oeuvres. I really liked the hors d'oeuvres because I hardly have a chance to taste them and it was splendid.
Here are some photos of the fashion show:
The above photos are the male models. There were about 30 photos I took this evening but about 80% of them were blur because the models were strutting so briskly!
Then here are the female models. There is this Malay model who is very famous. I think she is in the first and third photo. She has a very unique elegant look.
My doorgift. First photo is the paper bag, the second; the box and third, the gift.
Oooh! They even hired Amy Beh for a cooking demonstration. So you should reckon that this is a very exclusive event. The models were from Andrew's Models.
Last weekend I went to Pavilion, KL with Jeaney. I prefer Pavilion because it has Juicy Couture although it is only 70% opened. They have J.Co Donuts! I didn't buy them because they have an uncanny resemblance to Big Apple Donuts. Apparently Big Apple copied J.Co. Now, that's news!
