You have no idea how much I adore Leighton Meester and Blair Waldorf. The only thing I don't like about this dress is that its WAYYYY too short. Its like one inch to panty galore. But I love it all the more and I don't mind wearing stockings with it.
To the right is the oxford booties I've been searching high and low for, for months already. It's not perfect but its close to perfect ^^ . I like that it is so affordable and that it is not uncomfortable. Yet.
I have to figure out outfits to wear these because honestly, I'm quite bad at fashion. Hmm, my favourite style icons are Blair Waldorf and Alexa Chung. I love love love Alexa. She's so beautiful and her style is so effortlessly chic. Its like she doensn't think much about her wardrobe but she always manages to pull off anything stylishly.
Comment away!
I thought hunting for the perfect wayfarer would be tough, seeing that I couldn't afford a Ray-Ban original but I didn't want an el cheapo one that breaks easily. I saw one at Zara the other day while getting my red skinnies (another 80s trend), but it was too small for my face. Today, after gym I decided to start my hunt at Promod and fortunately, I spotted the perfect pair with a really ridiculously low price! The price before discount was RM69.90 and after, is RM20!!!
That's like pasar malam price, ok? But this is Promod and there were only 2 left so I chose the one that looked decent. Obviously at this price and because it is nearing end season sale, it had alot of fingerprints smudges but I figured that I could clean them up. Hello, where to find so cheap sunnies that are of good quality?!
Hmm, on another note - my first article's been published! But it was a joint effort so both my editor and my name are printed on it. Can't wait for the September issue though - I have about 2-3 articles in that issue. That is - if it gets published. I'm gonna further my writing skills by delving into songwriting, or at least lyric writing. My couzzie, who is a music student has suggested that I wrote some for her so she can compose a single and go through all the process of producing and marketing one. It is part of her degree program and I didn't mind at all. I need to bring out my writing prowess anyway. That minor incident at the magazine sort of pushed the writing-me into the corner so I sort of have writing insecurity issues (if there is such a thing). When faced with a shortcoming, acknowledge it and do something about it! That's what I read from a book. So here I am about to undertake a new path to songwriting. Classes resume next Monday and I'll be occupied but I always have time for writing : )
Sounded as if Shopping was my one true love, huh? Well, if Shopping was a man, I would marry him immediately. OK that makes no sense but whatever. Everytime I go 1U, I just go to gym, workout and go home. I try not to window shop or go to Zara, Topshop, Forever 21, Esprit, etc. But today after Father's Day lunch, my aunt wanted to check out Zara's jackets so we went there. Big mistake. I spotted a pair of colorful tropical-themed shorts and a striped tube top with matching faux leather belt.
Don't mind the blurry pics, I was rushing for time. I may appear chubby in the photos but remember, the camera adds 10 pounds to your normal size. Seriously.
I love love love the shorts but it is really pricey. So is the black and white tube top. But I wanted it so bad and the belt would look good with other tops that I just bought it. There goes my week's allowance. Because Zara's footless tights costs RM65.90, I went to M&S to get them for just RM39. So I did make an effort to save.
I thought the striped tube and footless tights combo looked more chic than the shorts. The shorts costs more than the tube and it gives a beach-y feel. If I had the money, really!
Suddenly, Keith's voice can be heard as I sat down to edit these pictures. "It will be impossible for you to earn your first million at the age of 30, if you're going on like this. I'd even be surprised if you have 10k by the time you're 30."
Guilt trips, I tell you!
Aren't they amazingly gorgeous? With the onslaught of gladiator shoes cropping up from shoe labels such as Aldo to Nine West, it IS this season's must-have even though the rage started and died down back in 2006. I reckon it didn't really catch on till now, when another season essential, short shorts made a comeback. They make a perfect match with some gladiator sandals are almost up to the knee and short shorts make legs seem longer. Anyway, enough of this fashion talk. Updates!
I haven't really been talking about college life because I find it may bore readers to death (are there even any readers?) or I may fall asleep while typing. But since finals start on Friday I might as well mention that I have 11 topics to cover which involves 2 books and some PPT slides. I'm SO not liking it that I have to skip gym tomorrow so I can finish up. I regret zoning out during classes now. Wait, that's what I've been doing since the beginning of my education XP I better do well or else I won't be able to study abroad.
Andddd... our fave topic. BOYS. I seriously don't want to make a move but I do wanna get to know them. Will I have to wait till kingdom comes? Seems like boys nowadays are not interested in making a move or not even interested at all. With my luck, I don't think anyone wants to go near me. I find myself unapproachable. I don't know why. Maybe its how my face is structured where there is a permanent blank look on my face or something that make boys run away. I notice how my friends get approached so easily. All they do is just give a look and the boys come running. LOL.Anyway, I'm gonna go on IM now and talk abt boys with Eve. : )
As a girl growing up, I have been exposed to the gimmicks of advertising and although I have grown accustomed to it, I still get sucked in with all the shiny and glamorous things. Things like LV, Juicy Couture, DB, Coach, Tiffany & Co., etc. Mostly luxurious items that are normally adorned on celebrities like Paris Hilton or the deranged Britney Spears. Lately, as you can observe, I have been spending countless amount of money on things like that. You think I have finally snapped into reality with the discovery of the dwindling money in my bank account but no! I have indulged in many other things that I am ashamed to publicize in this blog anymore.
Is this gonna end? I'm sorry and I feel guilty about it but I'm nowhere near that. In fact, when I get my pay (I haven't even gone training for the weekend job), I will spend it on M.A.C. ( I'm planning to be a collector), a good nice DSLR and perhaps a Juicy Couture Sidekick. I wanted it long ago when it first came out and totally forgot all about it when I found out it is locked but when I read a certain pink-loving blog princess's blog, I realized that it is now possible to unlock it! Oh for the love of Juicy!
It sucks that the things in Juicy are so over-the-top expensive. I mean, RM400 for just a cotton tee? You gotta be outta your mind. But I still love it although all I ever owned from the shop was an FOS long-sleeved T and an overpriced coin purse. And the coin purse was on sale too. Sigh. Why do I love expensive things? It would be good if I only like cheap stuff or better yet, not like anything at all.
What exactly was I thinking? Within a week of viewing a second-hand but mint condition LV bag on a forum, I contacted the seller immediately and without much thought, purchase the bag with the insufficient funds that I have. Not a very wise move isn't it? But I don't regret it one bit. Although sometimes I wish I had more money. Well, if I HAD more money... I would get this...
Meanwhile, feast your eyes upon my very first LVoe. The photos don't do justice but this will do for the time being. Till I get my atas DSLR or Canon Prosumer Cam.
Monogram Canvas Speedy 30 <3
I went to Pavilion the other day with Calvin and Louise. Just for a short while but I really had to make my first official Juicy Couture purchase (been waiting for far too long). Here it goes:
Even the paper bag looks juicy
Inside the paper bag lining
Wrapped in glamourous pink paper
My little gorgeous pink coin purse!
On another note I put it into my Balenciaga bag which has a black lining. Thus, it caused my beloved coin purse to get stained. I wiped it with a damp cloth and it kinda ruin the fabric plus the stain won't go. : (
It has been around 2-3 years since I bought my (neglected) Coach bag so I decided to extend its family by adding something gorgeous yet simple.
So what's in the shopping bag? It looks like a big bag but it could be just a zoom in. Gee, I'm really curious.
So neatly wrapped in precious Coach paper. I'm excited!
Close-up of the renowned brand.
Coach Bleecker Tattersall Wristlet!!!
It took me months to decide whether to get it. The first time I saw it, I told myself the second time I'm walking into the shop I'll get it. The second time I went it was out of stock. I guess third time's the charm cos on the third time, I managed to get it although I thought about it for awhile. No regrets!
My current obsession from Din Tai Fung @ The Gardens
Chicken Chop Fried Rice
I'm torn between getting a digital SLR or a compact camera. The price difference is about RM800. The DSLR is 10.2 megapixels while the compact camera is 8.1 megapixels.
OK let's weigh the pros and cons:
DSLR
Pros: Takes better photos, good for a long-run, better second-hand value
Cons: Pricey, most probably have to upgrade lenses as time progresses, size
Compact camera
Pros: Affordable, size
Cons: Pictures not as good as DSLR, no second-hand value
On the left: Album T
On the right: DSLR A-200
My mother was one of the privileged who had a chance to own an OCBC Platinum Robinsons card and an invite to the opening today at 7pm. Naturally she brought me and her close friend, Aunt G. Being overly excited, she got me primped up at 3pm and by 3:30pm, we were on our way there. Although Midvalley offered her to park her car at the valet for free, she'd rather park at the boulevard parking. Perhaps the very thought of parking outdoors and tipping the jockey was not a very appealing option.
We walked around quite abit before the opening. Since we didn't have lunch earlier, we went to Din Tai Fung for a late lunch. I didn't take any photos (nothing was worth taking photos for) but we had the usual Xiao Loong Bao, Xiu Mai and Chicken Chop Fried Rice. The fried rice was very very very good. In fact, it is one of the best I've ever tried in a long time.
Around 7:30pm we were sitting around the front entrance of Robinsons. I bumped into Keith, a classmate. He, like me, skipped gym just for this event. That's like, so totally rare! Gym for people like me and Keith is like some sort of a new religion. We never miss it UNLESS it is for something important. But I have to admit I missed alot of important events just because I stubbornly wanted to go to gym. So anyway, back to the topic.
Finally after a lion dance show and an opening ceremony speech, the crowd were allowed into the 3 storey departmental store from Singapore. I find it nice, they have alot of brands that we don't usually find here. Guests were treated with champagne, Coke, Sprite and a fine selection of hors d'oeuvres. I really liked the hors d'oeuvres because I hardly have a chance to taste them and it was splendid.
Here are some photos of the fashion show:
The above photos are the male models. There were about 30 photos I took this evening but about 80% of them were blur because the models were strutting so briskly!
Then here are the female models. There is this Malay model who is very famous. I think she is in the first and third photo. She has a very unique elegant look.
My doorgift. First photo is the paper bag, the second; the box and third, the gift.
Oooh! They even hired Amy Beh for a cooking demonstration. So you should reckon that this is a very exclusive event. The models were from Andrew's Models.
Last weekend I went to Pavilion, KL with Jeaney. I prefer Pavilion because it has Juicy Couture although it is only 70% opened. They have J.Co Donuts! I didn't buy them because they have an uncanny resemblance to Big Apple Donuts. Apparently Big Apple copied J.Co. Now, that's news!
